Goal: Successfully create a LinkedIn page for your company or client.
Ideal Outcome: You will create a new LinkedIn company page and successfully set it up for growth and engagement.
Prerequisites or requirements: You need to have a personal LinkedIn account and a few criterias met. Refer to Prerequisites for setting up a LinkedIn company page for more details.
Why this is important: A LinkedIn company page allows your business to promote products and services, grow your company brand, recruit new talent, and engage with your community.

When this is done: When you plan to grow your client or your business’ online presence on LinkedIn.
Who does this: Marketing manager or business owner.
- Prerequisites for setting up a LinkedIn company page.
- You need to have a personal LinkedIn account. Click here to sign up if you don’t have one.
- If you have just signed up for a new personal LinkedIn account, you need to wait 7 days before you sign up for a company page.
- Your personal LinkedIn account needs to be at an intermediate or all star level. If you have not reached that level yet, follow LinkedIn’s recommended guidelines to upgrade your profile’s level.
- Your personal account needs to have several first degree connections. In other words, you need to start connecting with at least a few people on LinkedIn.
- Create a new company page
- Head to the official LinkedIn sign up page and click “Create your page”.
- Choose the type of LinkedIn page that suits you.
- Provide your company details and upload a profile picture. Once done, tick the verification check box and click “Create Page”.
- Your new LinkedIn company page is now created.
- Completing your LinkedIn page setup
- If you have a LinkedIn company page set up. Login here and click into your company profile.
- Set a cover image for your LinkedIn company page. In your company profile page, scroll down to the cover image section and click the pencil icon to add a new cover image.
Note: Width:1128px, Height: 191px recommended
- At the top of your LinkedIn company profile page you will see a carousel with a list of actions to complete your profile. First, add a description to your company page.
Write an appropriate description and hit save.
- Upload a new logo.
Click the pencil icon and upload a company logo of your choice.
- Add a location for your company.
Select the country and insert your company address, then hit “Save”.
- Add a custom button. This is the main call to action button for your LinkedIn company page.
Toggle the custom button then select an appropriate button name for your company, add a URL for that button and hit “Save”.
- Create your first post to engage your audience.
Add your first post and hit “Send”.
- Add hashtags.
Click “Add a Hashtag”.
You can add up to 3 hashtags.
- You have now completed the setup for your LinkedIn company page!
