Goal: Prepare your business to run Facebook Ads for the first time from scratch.
Pre-requisites or requirements: You will need to have a personal Facebook account. To follow some sections on this recipe you will need to have Google Tag Manager on your site, you don’t have it yet, you can follow one of the following SOPs depending on the platform you’re using: Shopify, Squarespace, or Wordpress.
Why this is important: Facebook Ads allow you to promote yourself to the 2 billion active Facebook users worldwide.
When this is done: Only once per website usually.
Who does this: The person responsible for Paid media or Analytics, possibly with the help of the person responsible for Website Development.
- Step 1 - Create a Facebook Ads account
Outcome: You have a Facebook Business Manager account that manages your Facebook Ads account and it’s already set up with your payment method.
- Step 2 - Install the Facebook Pixel
Outcome: The Facebook Pixel is properly installed and QA’d.
- Step 3 - Set up Facebook Conversion Tracking
Outcome: You are successfully tracking all your main conversions or at least the conversions that will matter to your upcoming Facebook Ads campaigns.
